gmail conversation…
This is a conversation I had with a good friend of mine, talking about nothing other than girls, relationships, and God. It is copied straight from the gmail instant message, including all the abbreviations and misspellings, to protect the innocent I have gone back and changed the initials of the other person (me is ME). Enjoy!
KG: hey
sorry i couldnt call u the other day
u have time to chat now?
me: yeah… just finished sending a mov..
that i introduced a presentation on…
gonna send it to you… as well.
KG: sweet
me: not my best work, but pretty good.
you gonna call me know?
now
KG: no cant talk
im in a conf room with 12 folks
but i can chat though
dude so i met this girl
and the first time i saw her, i was like “i can see myself liking this girl”
and long story short
me: and now you like her.
KG: hahahahaha, yup we eventually met,
started talking and we are pretty much
dating albeit unofficially
so Shes Catholic
and it kinna threw me off for half a sec
but im like whatever
me: does she love jesus.
if yes.
then no problem.
KG: dude
how do you measure a persons love
for Jesus other than what they tell you
me: fruit.
does she love people
KG: she has a very very loving heart dude
me: does she seek after god
in her way
some are deeper than others
KG: she goes to church a whole lot
me: hitler went to church
no offense,
but what godly fruits is evident?
are evident?
KG: i hear u on the hitler piece
with her, she is kinna in the religious mode of things
shes goes through the motions,
knows there is a God, is really aware of Him and all
the thing is this
me: we need to talk..
i feel like you are missing my tone,
which is not condemning but empathetic
KG: no, im not even concerned about all that
me: ok
KG: condemnation stuff, im only talkn
to you becasue i know you can think in
and out of the box, see the big picture etc
like all people, she is a function of their environment
me: yes, and…
KG: dude, i have never believed
so much in anyones future
as much as i believe in her
me: ahhhh…. the potential factor
KG: its like she is a diamond in the rough
me: do you want to do the buffing?
KG: that is the ultimate question
me: i’m laughing now…that sounds different than i intended
KG: lol
me: you can only introduce her
to the master jeweler…. but it is her,
and her alone that must be willing
to be cut, shaped, and made anew
KG: AMEN
me: how are you doing with the introduction?
what i mean is…
KG: see and that one thing I have done
a good job of doing “not shoving Jesus donw her throat”
JEsus as I know him
me: are you showing a godly example
in speech, in action, in thought,
to her as well as to others when she is around?
KG: i do my very best
dude
me: are you talking about god,
as you would with me?
your wonder, your passion,
not shoving it down but making her
see the personal stuggles/joys/et cetera
that is life with god?
KG: i kinna do, but I had to backtrack cause
ive been there done that
my approach is to let her know what I stand for,
and allow her to decide on her own
i dont want to get caught up wiht her doing
stuff becasue (1) i am inadvertently pressuring
her or (2) she knows it will make me happy
me: love must accept you for
who you are passions and all…
KG: yup
me: ok
so do you love her,
or do you see a lot of things that have to be done
for you to direct your feelings in that direction
KG: sorry
gmail timed me out
so i said: dude, its pree scary,
but I love her even in her raw state,
its not like im waiting for her to change
be4 I allow mself to feel for her
me: ok…
so love is already present, but…?
what is holding you back from commitment…
besides your fear of commitment?
KG: LOL
nothing
were techinically dating/together
its just not been spoken officially
and thats goign to happen this weekend
yeah, dude, you are right about that fear of committment thingy
i kinna had to deal with myself on nthat issue
me: going deep…
if the gospel is real (not salvation… but the gospel)
then living a life of love (of jesus) should work!
KG: speak to me bro
me: it seems she has never seen Jesus only religion…
because jesus changes our paradigm
KG: you are right about that bro
me: it forces us to bring our whole lives
together, no more compartmentalizing
spiritual, emotional, professional
not shoving a message of salvation
that is the job of the baptists, but a action.
a rebellion, a revolution of love….
and love does what?
love conquers all.
i realize this is idealistic,
and you are going to have to figure out
how to live between the realism of your life
and the idealism of our faith.
as i am trying to figure out…
life in the grey!!!
KG: Allelu
me: a lot of this is in my writing already
which is why it is so easily spewed forth
KG: dude
this is real
i am learning how religious we are
even in the ‘pentecostal’ movement
dude, when the bible says we live by Grace,
that statement is more than you can imagine
me: amen
KG: we have nothign figured out
and a lot of us walk around in the fullness of’our knowledge of God’ and not ‘Gods revelation’ of himself to us
me: yep.
KG: its a really fine line, bordering on heresy
me: yep
KG: to what we knoe
brb
we have a’mandatory’ daily coffe break
me: heresy is not a sin…
KG: hmm
i never thought of that be4
why is heresy not a sin?
me: it is a contrary opinion to known orthodox belief
KG: oh ok
then i agree
me: go drink coffee
KG: but Dude
keep me in ur prayers, by Friday night,
i will have a gf, charting unknown waters
me: i gotta go… but can you call me soon?
so we can finish this?
KG: but one thing I know is that i;ll
be walking in more Love than ive ever seen in my liffe
me: good.
KG: ill try, its really ‘worky’ out here at this clinet site
ill look at the video and call u as soon as i can
me: ok, good. out
