The 3 Christian Virtues
1 Corinthians 13:13
- Faith: assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1)
Hope: expectation of future happenings (Romans 8:24)
Love: in three forms – Eros (intimate; sexual love), Philos (deep connectedness; love between Friends), and Agape (corporate; total, all encompassing love).
The 4 Classic Western Cardinal Virtues
- Temperance: σωφροσύνη (sōphrosynē) – or moderation; self-control
Prudence: φρόνησις (phronēsis) – good judgment; showing care and thought for the future
Fortitude: ανδρεία (andreia) – courage; strength of mind and body
Justice: δικαιοσύνη (dikaiosynē) – fair and reasonable; equity; evanhandedness
The 5 Virtues in Sikhism
Fundamental qualities which one should develop in order to reach Mutki, or to reunite or merge with God.
- Sat: truth
Daya: compassion
Santokh: contentment
Nimrata: humility
Pyare: love
